Our VCR bit the dust, so I gave the boys safety goggles and a hammer and let them go to town on this piece of obsolete technology. They spent the rest of the afternoon making robots out of the pieces. Great unplugged activity! Later, I let Ryan know he was required to pick up the robot guts off of the floor
before coming to the dinner table. He hesitated, took a deep breath, looked me right in the eye and said, "You know, Mom, life is more important than anything." After I wholeheartedly agreed with him, I waited for what was going to come next. He said, "If I don't eat, I can't live."
