We're Not About Easy

That's the response I gave to my mom when she visited this week saying things like, "Wouldn't it be easier if you poured the orange juice for them?" and "Wouldn't it be easier if you didn't let them help carry the Christmas tree into the house?" The answer, Mom, is a resounding YES!  But that wouldn't allow them the joy of participating and experimenting and getting it right and getting it wrong.  So, although I sometimes wish I could make the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches myself and get it done with instead of having to clean the floor and the little hands that stuck their fists all the way in the jar, easy is just not how we roll.
